Published research context (not product claims)
AICAR is used in literature as a cell-permeable precursor that is converted to ZMP, an AMP-mimetic nucleotide used to study AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) in cultured cells and animal models.
Classic papers (including Winder / Hardie AMPK work and later exercise-physiology models) use AICAR as a pharmacological probe of AMPK signalling. Those assays are experimental. They are not “exercise in a bottle” claims for this vial.
AICAR / acadesine has appeared in WADA prohibited-list discussions as an AMPK-related agent. That is an anti-doping classification, not a use instruction.
There is no UK marketing authorisation for this research listing as a fitness or metabolic medicine.
