Published research context (not product claims)
Human growth hormone is a 191-residue single-chain protein produced in the anterior pituitary. Recombinant 191-aa material (somatropin, rDNA origin) was developed so the sequence matches native hGH and can be used as a defined research protein (expression, folding, immunoassay, receptor-binding and cell-assay work). Early recombinant work includes bacterial expression of bioactive hGH (e.g. 1981 Nature purification/activity reports). Licensed medicines later used this protein class under medical regulation. Those authorisations do not apply to this research listing.
WADA prohibits growth hormone in sport. That is an anti-doping listing, not a use instruction.
