Published research context (not product claims)
MOTS-c is a mitochondria-encoded peptide mapped to a short open reading frame in 12S rRNA. The primary paper usually cited is Lee, Cohen and colleagues, Cell Metabolism (2015), which identified the 16-residue sequence and used it in cell and animal metabolic-signalling models.
Follow-up studies examine AMPK-linked assays, folate-methionine cycle readouts and exercise-physiology models. Those endpoints belong to experimental systems. They are not instructions or benefits for this vial.
Reviews treat MOTS-c as part of the mitochondrial-derived peptide (MDP) family, used as laboratory probes of organelle-to-nucleus signalling. That classification is biochemical, not a product claim.
There is no UK marketing authorisation for MOTS-c. Wellness marketing that calls it an “exercise mimetic” or fat-loss agent is not a claim for this research listing.
